Hi friends.

The “catching” has been fantastic here in Central Oregon this summer. I have been guiding several of the Cascade Lakes that have been kicking out lunker browns earlier this summer, & then targeting the creek channels that flow into the lakes for short water opportunities for large wild rainbows, & brookies. It has been a total blast!

Most days we fish below an Under-Cator in 5-10 feet. Dry/dropper techniques come into play for a few hours each day on a couple of the Cascades. Recently we have been casting clear slime lines over the weed beds using damsel nymph imitations. The takes are vicious, and in short water the fish take you into the backing frequently. Sight casting to browns, and bows using callibaetis mayfly adults on the right days is a whoot, & we can get some twenty inch fish to slurp dries during the ON days. With so much diverse water, we use a variety of methods to target these trophy trout, making fly fishing this region challenging , and super fun. The late summer and fall is shaping up to be a memorable one. Hope you can make it up and see what I’m raving about!

I want to thank all of you who fished with me at Eagle Lake this June, & then came up and spent some fun days on the Cascade Lakes, near Bend with me. I greatly appreciate your support, & friendship.

I have some health issues I need to address, & will not personally be booking anymore trips this season. I will keep you posted when I begin booking trips for the 2020 season.

If you want a guided trip around Bend, OR. I strongly suggest you Contact Fly & Field Outfitters directly.  I am not a booking agent for them. Their phone is 1 (866) 800-2812.
