Colorado River Fishing Report

Our local angler Dennis Baldwin and fishing buddy Jasper stopped in to share his catch. Dennis was using chicken livers while fishing off his boat. He did talk to another angler that was having some success using anchovies. the larger catfish weighed in at 6.48 pounds and as 24 and 1/4 inches.

Rainbow trout are the fish to be targeting here along the Colorado River. these quality rainbows are being stocked from our federal Hatchery Willow Beach hatchery the hatchery gets and raises the rainbow trout from various areas around our state. This may give a little variation in color but they are rainbow trout. Also to be noted that we are getting a nice size trout with some over 12 inches in length. Robert Escalera brought one of his limit to share he was fishing from shore using power bait in the community park area. The sites that are being planted for now are Davis Camp and community park. The limit is 5 trout per angler. Night Crawlers and power bait are working great along with your favorite spinner and even heard that various crappie jigs are producing limits of rainbows. I haven’t heard much word about our striper bite as of yet.  Lake Mohave should be picking up soon as well as the Colorado River here below Davis Dam. Please let us know when having some luck for these line sides. The topock Marsh is starting to produce some cat fish channel cats that is. our local angler Dennis Baldwin and fishing buddy Jasper stopped in to share his catch Dennis was using chicken livers while fishing off his boat.
